How do I backup my private key in the Proton Wallet?

Important: We can’t recover your private key for you. If you lose it, you won’t be able to make any transactions with your wallet.

Step 1: Tap on your profile picture.

Step 2: Tap on ‘Backup Key’.

Step 3: Tap on the ‘Copy to pasteboard’ button to copy your private key. You can also store the private key on iCloud on iOS or Google Drive on Android.

Step 4: If possible, try to save the private key securely on a device that is not hooked up to the internet. We also recommend making multiple backups and storing them in safe and secure locations.
