Basic Attention Token (BAT) is a cryptocurrency designed to improve the digital advertising industry. BAT is used within the Brave Internet Browser, a privacy-centered and open-source web browser that blocks malicious software content while anonymously collecting data about user attention (focused mental effort). BAT is used within this browser by both the user, the publisher, and the advertiser.

BAT allows publishers to receive funds from advertisers only when a user actually focuses on an advertisement – saving money, effort, and resources all around.
