Metal adds Irina Berkon to our Board of Directors

METALLICUS Inc. Announces Irina Berkon as New Board Member

San Francisco, Jan. 28, 2021 / Metal

Metallicus Inc., the holding company to Metal Pay and Proton, is proud to announce Irina Berkon as the newest member of Metallicus’ Board of Directors, effective January 25, 2021.

Mrs. Berkon brings a wealth of expertise to the Board. She is a sought after public speaker on fintech, cryptocurrency, and blockchain technology. As group CFO, she has been instrumental in preparing the company for the radical change that is on the horizon of the finance industry. Through assessing DeFi projections, dealing with OCC regulations and FinCEN requirements, preparing for international expansion, and other soon to be disclosed opportunities, Mrs. Berkon has helped Metal prepare for the future of finance.

Metal CEO, Marshall Hayner, said: “On behalf of the Metallicus Board of Directors, I am particularly enthusiastic in seeing Irina’s role expand to include her services on the Board of Directors. Irina has proven herself through her integrity, ingenuity, and industriousness in everything she does. Irina has shown us first-hand the high value that a highly diverse employee roster can offer. The experiences and perspectives that she brings to the table are unique to her, and have reminded us that the best person for the job may not look the same as everyone who worked the job before them.”

Irina Berkon emigrated to the U.S. at the age of 14. Despite the change of culture, she excelled at school and at a university, and later obtained her CPA license. Irina worked just short of a decade in a managerial position at Grant Thornton, and worked as Director of Finance at TubeMogul during their IPO. Irina also serves as a mentor at the Founder Institute and holds a Managing Director position at Golden Seeds. She has a long history of caring for those who need a little help in life, and is a great supporter of women entrepreneurs and breaking glass ceilings, but does not seek public acknowledgement for her engagements.

“Working in the world of finance has always been a challenge, but it’s getting better every day. As an immigrant, a woman, and a working mother, I don’t have a lot of role models to follow in this industry. I hope that my career trajectory can inspire other women to go boldly towards their dreams and to make a name for themselves.” – Irina Berkon
